ROWLF was introduced each time as Jimmy Dean's "ol' buddy", ROWLF, a dog that viewers fell in love with, was Jim Henson's first Muppet to gain a regular spot on a national television show. ROWLF the dog was performed by Jim Henson. You might notice the voice resembles Kermit. The Jimmy Dean show ran from 1963 to 1975 and ROWLF appeared in 85 out of 86 episodes. ROWLF is still popular today, especially on YouTube. Uncle Miltie (Milton Berle) also known as "Mr. Television" had a one-hour TV show featuring Milton Berle and his comedy along with assorted acts. He had one of the first variety shows on TV. Texaco Theater was originally a radio show. When it went to TV with Milton Berle it was an Immediate number-one smash. The series ran from 1948 to 1956, When Texaco pulled its sponsorship in 1953, the show became the Milton Berle Show. 🤔Milton Berle Trivia!?? Did you KNOW? Uncle Miltie got his nickname "Mr. Television" because his show was so popular and so well-loved that millions of people rushed out to buy televisions to watch his variety show.
