U2 or U 2, is an Irish rock band from Dublin. The group was formed in 1976 and consists of Bono (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), the Edge (lead guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen Jr. (drums and percussion). Initially, they were a post-punk band, U2's musical style has evolved throughout their career, yet has maintained an anthemic quality built on Bono's expressive vocals and the Edge's chiming, effects-based guitar sounds. U 2 is popular for its live performances, the group has staged several ambitious and elaborate tours over its career and still tours. With Or Without You is ranked as the #1 U2 song.
