Jeopardy! is an American TV game show produced by Merv Lion. The show is a competituin that turns around the traditional question-and-answer format of many other quiz shows. Instead of being offered inquiries, contestants are rather offered clues in the form of answers and they should identify the person, location, point, or idea that the hint describes, wording each response in the form of a concern.

The original daytime version debuted on NBC on March 30, 1964, and aired until January 3, 1975.

A nighttime syndicated edition broadcast weekly from September 1974 to September 1975, and a rebirth, The All-New Jeopardy!, ran on NBC from October 1978 to March 1979 on weekdays.

The syndicated program similar to modern-day viewers and broadcast day-to-day (presently by Sony Pictures Television  premiered on September 10, 1984.

Art Fleming worked as host for all versions of the program between 1964 and 1979. Don Pardo served as announcer until 1975, and John Harlan announced for the 1978-- 1979 season.

The daily syndicated variation premiered in 1984 with Alex Trebek as host and Johnny Gilbert as announcer. Trebek  continued to host till his death, with his last episode airing January 8, 2021, after over 36 years in the role.

Following his death, a selection of visitor hosts completed the period starting with consulting producer and former entrant Ken Jennings, each holding for a few weeks before passing the role onto somebody else.

Then-executive producer Mike Richards originally presumed the placement of irreversible host in September 2021, yet relinquished the role within a week.

Since then, Jennings and Mayim Bialik have actually functioned as permanent revolving hosts of the syndicated series.

While Bialik was initially prepared to host added primetime specials on ABC, and spin-offs, the announcement of Jeopardy! Masters in 2023 meant these duties were shared also.

Following Bialik's withdrawal partly of sustaining authors and stars because of the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, Jennings assumed hosting tasks for all the  duties.
