"Lollipop" is a pop song sung by the Chordettes, that was written by Julius Dixson and Beverly Ross. The song was inspired when Julius Dixson showed up late for a song writing session with Beverly Ross because his daughter got a lollipop stuck in her hair. Beverly Ross was so taken by the word "lollipop", that she sat down at the piano and created a version of the song. right on the spot. The Chordettes released the song in February 1958 and it became a world-wide hit. The Chordettes are Carol Buschmann, Dorothy "Dottie" Schwartz, Jinny Osborn, and Janet Ertel.
