Nanook OF The North is the first full-length documentary film (1922), it is by Robert J. Flaherty, It is about an Inuk hunter named Nanook and his family in the Canadian Arctic. The controversy is because some claim that Flaherty 'staged' several sequences in the film. The film follows Nanook, his wife Nyla, and their family as they go about living in the far north. The audience gets to see Nanook doing things such as hunting a walrus, building an igloo, and going about his day. Despite the controversy, the film is compelling.
