True Love Ways by Buddy Holly was originally recorded in 1958 and released posthumously in June of 1960. On February 3, 1959, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, Richardson, and Peterson were killed when the aircraft crashed into a cornfield five miles northwest of Mason City shortly after takeoff. The three musicians, who were ejected from the fuselage upon impact, sustained severe head and chest injuries. Holly was 22 years old.
